Day 2 of working on this website... This is the most fun I've had doing something in a while... Hyperfixation go brr

I did the javascript tutorial soo hopefully I can get some more interactivity in here! I'm also hoping to make this little blog thing here more streamlined so I don't have to actually edit the website html every time to add a new post. I'll have to look into that at some point. The embedded txt file in the bookblog page seems to be showing up black with white text on other browsers which is strange but not a big enough problem for me to need to fix right now. Maybe I should use an external blog and embed that? I have so much left to learn... dear god.

I GOT DYNAMIC WEATHER TO WORK! YESSSS!!!
Basically I spent most of today working on decoration (similar to yesterday... last night I got the main page to change themes depending on what time of day it is for the user) -- but today I made a couple of simple pngs to put on the background (pixel moon + stars) and then I made 8(!!) separate cloud pngs that should be randomly selected every time you change the theme on the mainpage. Getting it to work wasn't actually that bad but I ran into a couple of roadblocks. Javascript works basically the same as Python (at least so far) just with different syntax (which has screwed me up a bit). But when I finally put in all the files and it...worked... :DD So Freaking Hype!

Minor updates today. Added a guestbook, some little cats I found, a status box, a couple book review entries, aaaand I suppose that's it. I may be finally running out of steam... motivating myself to make big changes is a lot harder now. I still want to make another big page for my ocs and oc lore, upload game screenshots and blender models to the Gallery, add audio? add stamps? that would be cool.
...I do need to accept that I'll have to kick back my feet and chill at some point when it comes to this webpage. :P

In other news, I started reading Wintersmith, which I expect to be my last book before school starts. Liking it so far, it's a lot less painful to get through than Not Alone.

Most of what I worked on today aren't actually visible site changes.. I was browsing r/neocities a bit last night and saw it was recommended to use a different editor other than the native neocities one. I made a github repo for my site + downloaded VSCode on this pc so now I have a ton of just-in-case backups (and I won't have to spam the site with updates, lol).

Anyhow, VSCode is feeling pretty good so far (other than text not wrapping in the editor...) At least when I turned the fucking AI tools off. Jesus. The AI autofill was SOO obnoxious. Why do companies think we want AI crapping all over our stuff?? Quite the mystery.
